Welcome to Post-16.
Choosing where to continue your education is an important decision, and we are delighted that you are considering joining our post-16 community.
Our students are at the heart of what we do. We want every young person to achieve highly, discover their strengths and leave us ready to thrive wherever life takes them.
Academic success matters, and we make no apology for having high expectations. We expect our students to attend, work hard, take responsibility for their learning and make the most of the opportunities available to them. In return, they can expect excellent teaching, personalised support and a post-16 team that will know them, challenge them and champion their ambitions.
However, our vision extends beyond qualifications.
The world our students are entering is changing rapidly. Technology, automation and new ways of working mean that young people will need more than knowledge alone. They will need confidence, adaptability, critical thinking, independence and the ability to communicate and work with others.
Just as importantly, we want our students to be compassionate. We want them to notice what is happening around them, contribute to their communities and understand that success is not only measured by what they achieve for themselves, but also by the difference they make to others. We want young people who are prepared to act rather than simply stand by.
Our Post-16 experience reflects this vision. Alongside their academic or vocational studies, students will have opportunities to develop leadership, serve their community, engage with employers and universities, broaden their experiences and prepare purposefully for their next steps.
We recognise that every student's journey will be different. Whether the destination is university, an apprenticeship, employment, entrepreneurship or something not yet imagined, our responsibility is to ensure that students leave us prepared to perform at a high standard, adapt to change and make their contribution wherever they find themselves in the world.
Post-16 is a time for greater freedom, but also greater responsibility. It is a chance to discover who you are, what you stand for and what you are capable of achieving.
