Welcome to The Rosedale Hewens Academy Trust’s Post 16 Open Evening!

It is my honour to welcome students and families from within The Trust and from the local community to our Open Evening. This event has been designed to give you a flavour, both of the life and learning of students in Post 16 and to give you an insight into our comprehensive and versatile offer. We are so proud to offer over 29 courses to our students, ranging from A Levels, to BTECs and to Cambridge Technical qualifications, ensuring that whatever your aspiration, whatever your passion, we have something for you.

Via the video, you will be able to hear directly from our students as to how they are being prepared for the wider world, beyond college, and how their chosen courses are paving the way for their futures. We take great pride in having first-class students who are credits to our institutions and listening to them, it is easy to see why. You will see teaching and learning live in action, alongside being taken on a journey through our four college campuses, which boast of a state-of-the-art radio station, a fully-functioning hair and beauty salon, an engineering workshop, a law court and our dynamic computer suites. The Director’s Speech will offer you sage and practical advice on how to choose your Post 16 courses, tailoring them to your strengths and interests.

The Post 16 Open Evening is merely but a taste of what you can expect from The Rosedale Hewens Academy Trust. The overarching aim of the Post 16 provision is to enrich the lives of our students and to ensure that every single young person is bettered by our offer, graduating from The Trust with a sense of purpose and fulfilment.

I sincerely hope you enjoy the Post 16 Open Evening and that our sense of collaboration and community shines through the words and faces of our students. The Trust is a family that has its arms open to welcome you!

Trust Initiative - Coming Soon

The Driving Trust

The Rosedale Hewens Academy Trust will be rolling out a new and exciting driving initiative – The Driving Trust.
Exclusively for Post 16 students, age 17 and over, the driving initiative will allow students who are performing above and beyond in their academics, the opportunity to learn how to drive.
At The Trust, we are dedicated to developing our students into young adults and therefore preparing them for the wider world.
College Term Dates

Please find below arrangements for the academic year 2021-22 which sets out clear start and end dates for each term. It is also important to note periods of College closure as learners and staff are not required to report at these times. Within these dates, each individual learner will be given a bespoke programme designed to meet his or her learning needs and ensure that interim targets, in terms of progress are met. This is to ensure that no learner falls behind. Details of these arrangements will be provided well in advance of the programme.

Cashless Catering System

We have introduced a new cashless catering system - iPayimpact. This means that in an attempt to eliminate cash payments, parents, guardians and carers are requested to pay for their child's school meals using our online payment system. This will provide you with a convenient, secure and verifiable way of making online payments for school meals.

Students will need to be registered to be able to purchase items from the canteen. Once registration is complete, you will have access to your account statement and will be able to manage your payment history and automate online payments. Students will then be able to make payments by simply placing their finger on the reader, with recognition done through our biometric technology. The software will then automatically deduct the value of the items from the student's account.

This is a simple and secure way for parents, guardians and carers to make trusted cashless payments and efficiently manage school purchases. If you have any queries or wish to discuss our new cashless payment system, please contact the College.

Trust Transportation

The Trust is able to offer specialist transport provision to access our sites. As such, we have a fleet of transportation we utilise to transport students across sites. To access these provisions, students are required to follow our stringent prevention practices as advised by the government for any public transportation.  The minibuses go through a rigorous cleaning regime following each journey and it has been made mandatory for students to wear face coverings for the full duration of their journey. We will continue to issue frequent communications to ensure all necessary precautions are taken and that all staff are up-to-date with the official published government guidance.
